In "The Zone of Interest," the commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Höss (Christian Friedel), and his wife Hedwig (Sandra Hüller) live with their family next to the concentration camp. There they try to shape their family life and create an ideal world during World War II.
'The Zone of Interest' is the new film from Jonathan Glazer, who unleashed 'Under the Skin' on the world 10 years ago. Glazer based himself loosely on Martin Amis' book of the same name. The film features a phenomenal lead role for Sandra Hüller, who also took last year's Golden Palm winner 'Anatomy of a Chute' to the next level with her acting performance. Jonathan Glazer won the Cannes Grand Prix for his unique narrative about the banality of evil. 'The Zone of Interest' was also nominated for five Academy Awards, of which it won two: Best International Film and Best Sound. Come discover why in this chilling edition of EXPAT CINEMA.
